Green Smoothie

This is my go to green smoothie on days where I feel my body just needs a bit of a reset.  Whether I’ve just generally overindulged on food (or gin!) or I’ve got that familiar tingle on my skin that tells me I’ve eaten too much chocolate, this is the smoothie recipe that I turn to.

This green smoothie recipe gets five different types of fruit and veg in my system first thing in the morning.  I find the flavour combination of the celery and the lime juice so refreshing.  It seems to reset my palate as well as cleanse my insides.

Celery is a common ingredient in cleansing recipes because it has a high water content and is a diuretic so can help eliminate excess body fluid to keep everything in working order.

We also now know that healthy skin needs a healthy gut. Eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables is very important for gut health. It feeds the good bacteria in our gut and creates the conditions we need to keep our skin glowing.

Ingredients

1 cup almond milk
1 large handful of spinach
1 celery stick
1 green apple
1 cup pineapple
Juice of 1 lime

Serves 1

Directions 

Place everything into a blender and blend until smooth.
